Joint Unions and NCIC Launch Anti Bullying Campaign

April has seen the successful launch of our Bullying Campaign, in collaboration with the Joint Unions, Speak Up Guardians and North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Trust coinciding with the Trust’s Be NCIC Campaign.

NCIC Convenors visited a large number of workplaces across the trust, talking to many staff and picking up individual cases of potential bullying along the way.

Our recent staff survey shows that 21% of NCIC staff have experienced bullying in the workplace, with 46% feeling unable to speak up.

We will continue with our Campaign by organising some drop in sessions where members can come along for a quiet and confidential chat with their respective Trade Union Representatives so please keep an eye out for notices on boards, emails in inboxes and don’t forget to follow us on Facebook.

NCIC are launching LIA Listening Into Action, this has taken place in no less than 100 NHS Trust’s to date with amazing results.  Quite simply it allows staff to generate their own ideas to improve the way they work within their workplace and then implement them.  Of course, it’s a structured approach, with lot’s of help from the LIA team but we have witnessed this approach in other Trusts and would encourage as many staff as possible to participate.  If there has ever been an opportunity to make our Trust a great place to work, this is it!
