FREE Webinar for Overseas Nurses

29 November 2023

7pm – 8.30pm Online

Coming to work as a nurse in the UK can be very challenging.

It’s important you have advice and support from a union when you practice.

UNISON leads national campaigns on important issues affecting
nurses like ensuring safe staffing levels, challenging racism and
negotiating for better pay.

Our dedicated Professional Services Unit offers representation
and advice to members registered with professional bodies. So, if
you need help dealing with any regulatory issue with the Nursing
and Midwifery Council (NMC), UNISON is here to support you
every step of the way.

You’re never alone in UNISON. We work with the Joint Council for
the Welfare of Immigrants to provide free immigration advice to
our members. Working together we have successfully pressured
the UK government to extend NHS visas with no additional fees
and to remove the health surcharge for health workers.

UNISON is proud to represent overseas nurses and wants to
make your journey to working in the NHS as smooth as possible.

Recently we have:

  • Campaigned successfully for a more appropriate minimum
    IELTS score;
  • Worked with the NMC to create a better online process for
    international applicants;
  • Helped to strengthen safeguards for staff recruited from
    overseas.

Over 100,000 nurses are already members of UNISON, the largest
trade union in the UK.

Join this monthly session to hear from officers and nurses from the UNISON Health Team about the support and help you can get by being a member of UNISON. This series is open to members and non-members.
